Call Of God by Rev. Steve Millar

Holy Boldness

It's easy for us to say “anything for you, Lord” when the task is convenient and doesn’t put you out, but our true dedication shows when we sacrifice and put our life on the line for the call of duty—winning the lost at any cost. The Lord wants yielded vessels to spread His Word in this final hour, and He’s depending on us to finish the work before it’s too late.
Philip is a great example of someone who was confident in his ability to witness to a lost soul, and he proved it when the Spirit moved on him to run after an Ethiopian man who was traveling by in a chariot. At the time, Philip was doing a great work for the Lord, preaching and praying for the sick and afflicted; and many souls were coming to the Lord. But one day, an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip and told him to Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert (Acts 8:26). Without hesitation, Philip arose and went. Now, this shows a great trait of a soul winner—to be ready and willing to carry out the instructions of the Lord. You don't hear Philip complaining that the Lord wanted him to travel into the desert. No, Philip had holy boldness; and when you have holy boldness, you have the "go ye" attitude.

Philip put God first. It didn't matter where the Lord was sending him, and it didn't matter if he had other plans or other things to do. Philip was focused on doing the will of the Father. God's not going to give you holy boldness if you are not willing to use it; He knows your heart. If you really want to be a witness and testify to others about Jesus, the Holy Spirit will guide and direct you to those souls that you can help.
The Lord guided Philip to the desert to meet one man, not a whole village or a large group of people. No, it was just one man. This lets us know how important one soul is to the Lord and that we must be ready at all times to be willing to drop whatever we are doing when the Lord moves on us to help rescue a soul.
This man that the Lord wanted Philip to witness to was a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, and he had traveled to Jerusalem to worship. As he was returning, he was sitting in his chariot reading the Scriptures when the Spirit of the Lord said to Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot (Acts 8:29).
Philip had a small window of opportunity to make contact with this soul. It didn't matter to Philip where the man was from, whether he was a Jew or a Gentile, or whether he was rich or poor. No, he was a soul that needed to be taught about Jesus. Philip used his holy boldness to ask one question to the eunuch, Understandest thou what thou readest (Acts 29:30)? Just five simple words opened the door for Philip to share the Gospel with that man who had traveled all the way from Africa.
The eunuch desired Philip to come and join him in his chariot and to teach him about the Scriptures; and by the time Philip was finished telling him about Jesus, the eunuch was ready to give his heart to the Lord and be baptized. Philip sowed and reaped in a moment of time because he was ready. He was ready with the knowledge of the Word, and he delivered it with wisdom and holy boldness.
Friend, it doesn’t matter how old you are; the Lord wants to use you to help bring in the harvest. If you want to be a soul winner for Jesus, take on His holy boldness and be ready to go forth to witness to lost souls.
But you can’t go forth to witness to the lost if you are lost yourself. If you have any sin in your heart, you must confess that sin and ask Jesus into your heart. Click here and Rev. Angley will say a prayer of salvation with you. If you are sick in body, you can click here to receive prayer for your health. It is God’s will for you to be well in your soul, mind and body.
God bless you and keep you in His perfect love and peace, and be ready like Philip was to “win the lost at any cost.”
Love in Christ,
Rev. Steve Millar
